Cool tip. I am interested in camping and DIY, so this hits a sweet spot.

This reminds me of a grill I made at the lake a few weeks ago. A buddy and and his sons and me and my son were swimming and fishing and we had chicken that needed grilling. We could have brought our normal camp grill, an old oven rack, but I wanted to test my skills.

So I collected some green sticks and made an oval shaped hoop. I tied it in place then wove the other green stickes through it like a snow-show. We soaked it in the creek for about an hour and then grilled the chicken on it. Perfect. I will be doing this again.
