PC1News.com has reported a new Trojan attack. This one is an e-mail from “United Parcel Service of America” Most of us know about opening mail that we are unsure of. We know not to. However, we need to spread the word to those less learned than the average geek.

This is an example of the fake e-mail.

Hello!

We were not able to deliver postal package you sent on the 14th of May in time because the recipient’s address is not correct. Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office.

The message does not infect you itself but there is an attached .zip file. Once downloaded your it punches a malicious Trojan horse called Troj/Agent-KBE into your system. There are other Trojans associated with this attack as well. For a list of the associated Trojans and more details go here.

As in all instances of keeping your system secure, vigilance is the best anti-virus. Keep your eyes open.
