Windows 7 was supposed to have a feature built into it that allowed a user to take one WiFi network and share it much like a wireless router. The feature was killed before the release of Windows 7 (legal issues?) but a company called Nomadio has pulled that feature back from the grave with an application called “Connectify.” The application takes the wireless adapter and creates multiple virtual adapters that can route the wifi traffic. This is not the same as creating an ad0hoc network. One application would be to use it in a paid-for wireless coffee shop, with all of your WiFi enabled devices.
From the PCWorld article “Although the Connectify beta is free to download, Gizis said that Nomadio would likely pin a price on the final, full-featured version when that’s ready to release in about six weeks.”
Head on over and check the rest of the article out. LINK
or Download the (beta) software and try it out. LINK
