Just in case you forgot, or weren’t around yet, yesterday was the 30 year anniversary for The Clash’s album London Calling. In short, The Clash was the definitive group in the punk movement. The intensity and sheer passion in which they played was, in my opinion, unmatched. They incorporated a sound that was definitely punk in nature but utilized other styles of music enabling them to appeal to the widest range of audience known by any other punk group of the time, including the Sex Pistols.

This is a recording of their American TV debut in April of 1980.
