The Year’s First WTF: Avatar is Racist

Avatar is easily one of the best movies made. It is a classic story of good vs evil, a story about doing what is right and that love can be the catalyst for that. Then again, interpretation is subjective. Over the past two days, the net has erupted with accusations of racist subtext in the story line. There are even submissions by respected news sources: Telegraph.co.uk, TheWeek.com, Huffingtonpost.com, and Discovery.com to name a few.

Is Avatar intentionally racist, or is it seen that way driven by an over active crusade to be as P.C. as possible? Leave a comment, voice your opinion.

I’m gonna have to go with the not racist vote. Too much time is taken worried about what is p.c. It is a good story that does have racial meaning but one of acceptance. Sad that it take a story that pits humans against an alien race to get us to see our entire population as one though.

  2. Avatar was a good movie, I agree with you on that. But many people think the dark knight was much better

  3. Ia Avatar simply a movie? or is there something more significant to it? Are the writers trying to enlighten us?
