Ultimate DIY: 1928 Pietenpol Sky Camper
Bernard Pietenpol designed and built this plane (rather one like it) during the Great Depression. He called it the Air Camper, and for less than $2000 you can do it too. Plans can be found here. Found a couple of cool vids on it too. Check ‘em out.
