Lun: The Scariest Thing the Russians Ever Built

Best I can make out from the translation, the Lun is one scary plane/boat/tank hybrid. Aside from the fact that this thing is enormous it has WWII style gunners plus, as if taken straight from the pages of some post-apocalyptic comic, missile tubes. Not just one or two, but six very large missiles. Designed for [...]

The JustUsLeeg stays out of political conflict. We want this to be a fun webzine, a place to come to brighten up your day, make you laugh, and every now and then, talk about tech. Although, there is defiantly nothing wrong with a good political argument. If that’s what you are looking for, head over [...]

There is a movement afoot, to make Hella the new SI prefix (US) for 10^27, coming after Yotta. Austin Sendek, from the UC Davis Physics Dept. said:
“The number of atoms in 120 kg of carbon-12 would be simplified from 6,000 yottaatoms to 6 hellaatoms. Similarly, the sun (mass of 2.2 hellatons) would release energy at [...]

Here are a few vids of people putting non-food items in microwaves. I’m gonna have to try some of these. First off is Ivory soap in a microwave. Oh, yeah, and make sure and watch the vids all the way through.

This is what happens when you put a sonic boom firework in the microwave. A [...]

February 1, 2003. The Space Shuttle Columbia (Mission STS-107) breaks up during reentry killing all seven crew members.
The loss of Columbia was a result of damage sustained during launch when a piece of foam insulation the size of a small briefcase broke off the Space Shuttle external tank (the main propellant tank) under the aerodynamic [...]

Bernard Pietenpol designed and built this plane (rather one like it) during the Great Depression. He called it the Air Camper, and for less than $2000 you can do it too. Plans can be found here.
Found a couple of cool vids on it too. Check ‘em out.

A see through body piercing. Just don’t quite know what to say about this. On one end, “Cool! It’s your body, it’s your right.”, but on the other end I just gotta wonder what she’s thinking. To quote my middle son, “Whoa! Creepy!”

Hurley, New York: John Gill and Gary Arnold built this:

It can be heard from miles away, it can shoot a large squash a mile, and leaves the barrel at around 600 mph. Being a geek can be a very cool thing.

Is it a real ad, or is this fan produced? No one’s quite sure. What do you think?
